Close to the Heart…

As a child, I grew up pretty poor. We weren’t homeless, but we didn’t have much. I was nominated for a program like Christmas For Kids in third grade. They picked me, and the group, up and took me to breakfast in a fancy restaurant. My first time eating breakfast at a sit down restaurant, or really eating at any restaurant with table cloths. We were able to pick some toys and clothes and went home with some items for our families and some large food boxes. I will never forget that experience and didn’t realize, as a child, how much work and kindness went into that one special day. It gave me a feeling that there actually were people who cared in this world.

When I found out about Christmas for Kids I wanted to help and have been a shopper for several years now. I always make sure, through finding the very best deals, that my child gets everything on their list and then some. They also always get a special toy.

It feels great to be able to help in this way each year and I applaud all of your hand work to make this happen for needy kids.
